welcome

Hi! I am a FWO-funded PhD researcher in International and European Studies at Ghent University. I earned an M.A. with the highest distinction (summa cum laude) in International Politics from Ghent University in 2020.

I research the recently reformed European Financial Architecture for Development. My focus lies on the financialization of the European Union’s development aid to Africa, a policy domain that’s becoming increasingly geopoliticized. By examining these reforms and their implications, I hope to shed light on the role of private capital in shaping EU development policy.

My work attempts to challenge conventional narratives surrounding the European Union’s role as a development actor in world politics, through critical, anti-Eurocentric and decolonial lenses, striving to amplify marginalized voices and perspectives. I also co-organise the Learning Network on Decolonization, a bottom-up initiative which initiates activities to decolonize education, research, and services to students and staff.
